How to fly into a towered airport

For you guys that are uncomfortable flying into control towered airport, here’s a video for you.

Hopefully you will feel a little more at ease after watching this when you realize that there really isn’t much to flying to a towered airport.

Now don’t laugh because it’s my first real attempt at making a video. I was really nervous making it and I felt really weird talking to myself but hopefully you’ll like it. There are controls in the lower right corner to raise the quality of the video and make it full screen if it’s too hard to see. Sorry if it’s too long, I will try to make them shorter!

    Excellent video, Very well done. I will be sure to share it with my fellow pilots. One small suggestion for improvement would be that the volume needs to be higher, a little bit hard to hear on my Ipad at full volume. Overall excellent !!!!!!!!!. Thank you.

      Hey Randy, thanks for the compliment! I tried my ipad and it is quiet on there but it’s very loud on my computer. I will try to record louder in the future so it’s good on all systems!

    Very nice video; simple, clean, direct. You chose a great example airport. Dupage LOOKS complicated by it’s airport diagram and surrounding airspace, yet you do a great job of showing that all that stuff is largely superfluous to the actual task at hand: communicating with the tower.

    I am working on my Private License in Houston, TX at DWH airport.
    Just wanted to thank you for making the video on “Control Towered Airport Communication”. It was very helpful, easy to follow, and reduced my anxiety to fly at D airspace by at least 80% 🙂
